Twelve people have been arrested on suspicion of having carried out at least seventeen robberies in Felanitx in the past few months. These included one of a vehicles, others of breaking into vehicles and two robberies with violence.

In late summer, the Guardia Civil opened an investigation into thefts from cars in the old town of Felanitx. During the course of the investigation, the two robberies with violence occurred, one of them particularly serious: a person over the age of eighty suffered bad injuries. The two people responsible are now in custody.

Police surveillance was stepped up and, thanks to the public's help, all the suspects have now been detained. The investigation culminated in a raid on a property at the end of November. Various electronic products were seized. There were also searches of four establishments linked to and frequented by the suspects.

In addition to the twelve people arrested, three more are under investigation.

Some of the stolen goods have been returned to their owners. From Monday to Friday, other items will be put on display at the Guardia Civil's station in Felanitx between 10.00 and 13.00.
