Another small boat with illegal immigrants from north Africa was intercepted this morning (Sunday) by the Guardia Civil's maritime service. Once more, it was off the Cabrera archipelago, where thirteen people were picked up by the Guardia on 10 July. Fourteen people are said to have been on board this particular craft, which is believed to have come from Algeria.

The fourteen today are on top of the 124 who have been detained since the start of the year. This a record number of illegal immigrants who have attempted to enter Spain via the Balearics.
