The Partido Popular opposition in Alcudia have demanded an immediate response from the ruling administration at the town hall to "continuous criticisms" of the colour of the seawater in the area by the port.

The PP's Fina Linares has accused the administration of neglect in not responding to social media complaints about the green colour of the water. Expressing her full support for the tourism industry in Alcudia, Linares claims that people are going to beaches in other municipalities as they are worried that faecal water has led to the green appearance. She points to there being a smell as well.

Linares wants to know what the tourism and environment councillors are doing and believes that it is a nonsense that a high-profile tourism municipality should be conveying such a "lamentable" image.
