Spain's tourism minister, Reyes Maroto, said in a television interview on Monday that she was hopeful of the UK quarantine requirement for the Balearics and Canaries being lifted. Observing that the UK government was due to review the situation on Monday, Maroto explained that the Spanish government had provided the British authorities with "all the arguments so that they can trust that their tourists are safe in Spanish destinations, especially the islands".

Last year it was tourists ‘go home’ all gone bit quiet now on that front.
I’m not sure what the minister is hopeful of, if the Government have failed to put in place the required checks on flights from virus hotspots in Spain??They put the argument last time. It didn’t work. They need to up their game.
I hope the information put to the UK Government helpstgem to make a correct decision. Businesses are close to Bankruptcy. Families have no work,no food, no money. It needs to be an assurance that UK Tourists will be totally safe. Those residents on the Island must ensure their complete safety by following every rule and requirement issued to protect them and the visitors. It is totally imperative to save Mallorca's economy.
Lets hope it stays in place. It is quieter and nicer without the misbehaving British underclass tourists that head to Palma Nova and Magaluf
