Talk about a closed shop, one gets the feeling that most taxi drivers are related to politicians the way they back them and don't allow Uber or Cabify operate on the islands. Be cheaper and better for all round.
Who will driving all these taxis with new licences only available during the summer season? And then what will these drivers then do? Short solutions, long time mess.
Why are the bus services not made more frequent instead of more taxi's for island travel? Not that I am an emissions fanatic like the politicos are today, but with the expense of EV buses why more licences, are the taxi's EV's? I think not, more likely Skoda's! We have a reduced speed limit on the Via Cintura to reduce emissions, causing vehicles to be running longer due to lower speed, surely it is time to line up all anti pollution policies to achieve the net zero goal that is so important.
