Just hours after an estimated 100 people took part in an anti-mass tourism protest on the beach in Playa de Palma on Sunday, local residents in the town of Santanyí complained about the large number of visitors to the weekly market on Sundays and Wednesdays.

Went to Son Ferrer market last week, its minimum 50% smaller than pre covid, as visitor numbers are still way down, no matter what the press say.
i dont think the stallholders will complain about too many people visiting the market
Mr SobrasadaIf you don't like it then lobby your MP to change the laws. They're the ones who allow it.
What is enough is all this wealthy emigrants from uk or north Europe. Buying properties here and not residing or living full time here. Not paying taxes and renting without any kind of control. Resident guiris, why would you inmigrate to a place that you are not welcome and you have to live in your own gethos? Not even naking the efort to learn the language.. even its embarrassing to hear you guys trying
And I’m Sorry but I saw the 100 person demonstration and there were barely 40 people there. This constant embellishment by MDB which is just turning itself into a PSOE propaganda rag. Do better please and just report the facts not the stories …..
Yeah the locals are right, let's keep the market full of cheap tat for the poor locals. Better that way.
I do not think the Market Stall Owners would want less customers. Most Markets in Mallorca not only occur, but are created for Tourists. Stop the Tourist as a customer to any Market, and close it down .
