On Tuesday morning a German-plated Porsche was parked in the space reserved for the mayor of Palma.
According to a person who works on C. Palau Reial, which is where the space is located, the Porsche was there for at least half an hour. During that period the driver went to and from the car on a number of occasions.
There are police by the town hall building and they are regularly to be seen in the vicinity. But if they noticed the Porsche, they didn't do anything about it.
Palma town hall has confirmed that the driver hadn't been authorised to park where he did. He was illegally parked.
It would seem that the mayor, Jaime Martínez, was not inconvenienced.

Stephen NivenHow did they manage to lose the war !
RedbaronIt's not possible to have an uninsured/taxed/Mot'd (TüV) car in Germany, or abroad. You can't register the car without TüV, insurance or a German address. The number plate is issued to YOU at your place of residence. It changes every time you move or the owbership changes. If you let either lapse you will be prosecuted at your place of residence unless you de-register the vehicle. Doing so means returning the number plates. German car insurance also covers you 365 days a year throughout the EU, unlike UK insurance. Ipso facto. Any German car on any road EU-wide is either taxed/insured/TüV'd or there is a pending prosecution against the owner at home. The Germans are anything if not organized.
Typical German arrogance.
Any foreign registered car that outstays it's welcome of as I understand of 6 months and one day in Spain or territory should be removed even from the several airport car parks and put in a car compound to be collected, and have to have a full ITV test, and re-registered to Spain before allowing on the roads again. All the authorities need to do is, to ride around these car parks, and get warrants for the car removal. No car tax proof, MOT or ITV and insurance should equal no car on the road. Yes, I am driving my British registered car on the island for a few days, and I can prove when I arrived and departure dates to head back to the UK in a few days time. Yes I did enjoy driving through France to get a ferry from Sète France to Alcudia.
Now that’s worthy of newspaper space😏
Why don't you run a story of all the uninsured german & uk plated cars?
Did we have insurance and a valid mot?
Again one rule for the rich.......................
