The matter has been referred to a court in Palma
At 6.20am on Sunday, security cameras at the yacht club in Can Pastilla recorded a 12-metre sailboat, Peregrin Tuk, leaving the harbour. Two homeless men were on board the boat. They had stolen it and were heading south.

Homeless men "destroyed" sailboat stolen in Can Pastilla and yet your big sister paper has one of the culprits on its front page being paraded as a virtual hero or at least a lovable rogue wanting to "taste " freedom. Some very strange moral precepts being displayed. I think the editor of UH needs to have a serious rethink about law and order issues.
As a boat owner I'm appalled at the ease with which these people just got away with stealing and then ruining someone else's property. Purely by chance I came back to my boat after popping to the supermarket a couple of years ago in Porto Colum to find two guys sitting in the cockpit. Obviously they had seen my wife and I approaching and pretended they just wanted to have their selfies. Yeah, right. I reported this to the Yacht Club who were completely disinterested. We always used to leave the boat open if we went for a drink as naively I thought yachties and the places we inhabit were safe. No more. But remember, a child could break into the average 12-15 metre boat through the roof lights. Be very careful what you leave on board. And don't expect the courts to give a damn.
Of course they were released. Keeping them in jail would abuse their hooman rights . They are homeless, for sure don't have jobs. They need to keep begging and stealing to support themselves though never to make enough money to pay for the damage they have caused.
