The latest health checks carried out by Sa Pobla Town Council on the public water supply have detected occasional deviations in the concentration of nitrates above the maximum levels established by regulations, and the water is therefore considered unfit for human consumption. The Town Council recommends not using tap water for drinking or cooking until further notice. For all other uses, it can continue to be used in complete safety.

I wouldn't drink tap water anywhere.
Stan The ManYep Stan, most of Mallorca is limestone, and most bottled water (Teix, Font Major etc.) is local too.
Humphrey, you need a few swigs of Heineken. “The water in Majorca don’t taste like how it oughta”
The tap water is fine to drink in my village. Yes, it's quite hard but so is all the bottled water.
Even the bottled water produces Calcium Carbonate regularly in my kettle. Of which I have to descale regularly.
Maybe if they didn’t swamp their fields with tons of the stuff? Sa Pobla might be famous for its tatties but God knows what’s in them. Ecologically friendly or organic they ain’t. They say the water’s potable where we are but we always use bottled water, which ideally should be filtered , to make tea or coffee, to drink and to make ice cubes. Never from the tap.
This is nothing new; our tap water even kills garden plants. Our friend's horses won't drink it... what does that tell you?
