Real Mallorca's final friendly before the start of the new season saw them lose 3-2 against top division side Granada in the Trofeo Ciutat de Palma. The home team extended a first half lead given them by Colunga when Sánchez added a second after fifty minutes. Defensive lapses then cost Mallorca as Granada scored three times, twice through Ponce and with the third from Toral.

Mallorca could thank goalkeeper Cabrero for their half-time lead. He saved brilliantly on two occasions in the early minutes of the first half. Coach Vázquez changed the whole eleven for the second period, and Mallorca could have gone three up when Brandon hit the woodwork.

Things start for real this coming Saturday when Mallorca play host to Reus on the opening weekend of the season.
