Atlétic Balears, who are in Group 3 of the Second Division B (the third tier of Spanish football), started their season yesterday with a 1-0 away win at Atlético Levante in Valencia.

Atlétic Balears are coached by former German international Christian Ziege and have several German players in their squad. The Second Division B consists of four groups that are regional-based. In Atlétic Balears' group there are teams from Catalonia and Valencia (17 of the 20 between the two regions), one from Aragon and two from the Balearics, the other one being Real Mallorca B, who Atlétic Balears play next.
