Levante 2 - Real Mallorca 1

Mallorca away at league leaders Levante. Would Mallorca show the improved form in the league (last weekend's win at home against Huesca) or would it be the cup form, as demonstrated in the loss at home to UCAM on Wednesday?

It looked like the former, Ansotegi heading in from a free-kick on twelve minutes. But five minutes later, a Levante centre-back, Chema Rodríguez, did likewise but from a corner. Even-steven at half-time score-wise and play-wise; Mallorca holding their own.

Into the second period, and Ansotegi tried to repeat his first-half effort with nine minutes gone. Sabater went close just afterwards, with Mallorca on top, but it wasn't Mallorca who scored, it was Levante -  sub Lerma shooting in from outside the area on fifteen minutes. The goal proved decisive for the league leaders, pushing them to 23 points, thirteen above Mallorca in seventeenth spot.
