Mallorca are making a habit of last-minute equalisers. Last week it was Sastre who rescued them against Formentera. Today it was Lago Junior, whose penalty (in the style of Panenka) secured a point that Mallorca didn't really merit.

Away in Alicante, Hercules forced four corners in the first quarter of an hour. Reina did well to save from Juli but was then beaten on 22 minutes when Moha hit a post. Abdon netted for Mallorca four minutes later but was clearly offside. With eight minutes left of the first half, the woodwork saved Mallorca again - Juli striking the bar.

After the break Hercules quickly made up for their misses when Moha put them ahead inside the first minute. Raíllo, returning to Mallorca's defence, didn't provide the additional solidity that coach Moreno would have been looking for: his mistake gave Moha an easy chance.

Abdon, ineffective up front, was pulled off, and it was his replacement Bustos who was adjudged to have been fouled in the area on 89 minutes. Step forward Lago to grab the point which leaves Mallorca seven points ahead of Villarreal B, who won 1-0.
