Well, what a bad story. I live 18 years on the island. I go from cala dor often with the bus to palma. The problem is not the public transport in Palma because that is perfect. I lived in Palma also 6 years. The busses are from EMT and thats all ok. But the busses who go and come from outside Palma is the TIB. And the TIB has very bad connections and in the winter even no connections. That is the problem and why people not going to palma so often. Specialy out of the season when the timetables changing. And also they stopped lines. For example,first there was a bus from cala dor directly (with stops) to palma. Now you must go to campos, and in campos take the bus to palma or cala dor. Today i came from palma to campos and there the bus to cala dor came 3 hours later because the same line is driving different routes. So i took a taxi to cala dor. (Portopetro). So its really the TIB who is so poor with transport. Its not Palma. And parking is not a problem if you parc in a parking garage. Plaza españa, porto pi, Fan, or in the center. I dont see a problem. It are the citys and villages outside Palma with the poor TIB connections.

I tell ya all this fighting about everything is definitely not helping these poor people with these shops are going to leave and not return Crime is also not going to leave and has getting very used to working the small alleys and dark corners in Palma we all hear about the crime and we know about all the other problems it’s a very sad situation !

We always have to go to Palma if we need something more than ordinary. What with the Port a ghost town in winter and now Palma, we really are a third world municipality.

Unfortunately Palma is one of the most crime ridden places in Spain according to figures released by the Spanish government.

'Palma is becoming a ghost town' and 'you can't park anywhere'. Maybe you can't park anywhere because there are thousands of visitors every day and the place is heaving. Does the MDB every have anything positive to say about Mallorca? Maybe the so called journalists should look for somewhere else to live as they obviously don't like it here.

Apart from winter when the Airport to Campos bus is expunged, (like November to end of April), what were years ago regular trips are now down to possibly 2 a year and then to the poligono's. In comparison to the rest of the island Palma is a rip off for all the aforesaid reasons, to include a few more, anti traffic schemes and pick pockets. It is also interesting to note that since the introduction of the HOV, Palma Airport has blocked off the service road from Son Omns which was always a relief road to get to departures if the motorway was gridlocked.

It’s not just the out of town venues attracting shoppers from Palma, it’s the Palma Town council causing the problems with more and more 20 mph zones, so called High Occupancy motorway lanes and endless parking restrictions. Add to this Palma is filthy dirty and the main shopping areas covered in graffiti which residents should be ashamed of ? Add to this the Passeo Maratimo has become very unsavoury in the day and even more so in the evenings. Like many property owners we used to enjoy our weekly visits with drinks on the Passeo before dinner but not for a few years now far to dirty and dangerous, the city is an embarrassment to Majorca.
