MaltIt's a matter for each country how to handle the passports checks. Because EU members can use e gates in the UK, it does not mean all have to follow the UK procedures. People with EU passports travelling within EU countries does not need to show their passports at any time, at least in most countries. Regarding you believe I've not travelled much, you are so terribly wrong as anyone can be. I've lived in three and continents mist of my life and travelled extensively too. I really don't know why so many are so thin skinned like you blaming others. Every country, the UK included, set their own rules, it's as easy as that, and the quicker people understand that, life becomes easier. This about that EU is vindictive, is wearing thin, just own the Brexit plus and minuses.

The elusive cake. Having it (let alone eating it) was never going to happen, but plan B (or C or D or whatever) now appears to be to take it one crumb at a time. If it ever even resembles a cake, it won't be edible anyway. But every crumb will surely be hailed as a victory.

SaraSara, don't be rediculous. It's only the Brits who wants favours going abroad to EU countries. This is definitely one way idea only. Some are more equal than others - one way!

SaraWell I can’t see one without the other being fair can you.

Ulla JacksonActually Ulla I haven’t had any major delays entering any Schengen area and have noticed that the E gates are usually slower than the manned stations particularly in Amsterdam. I quite like getting my passport stamped. Then I am of a certain vintage. The delays I’ve encountered are all with security to get airside. Unfortunately we all have to suffer that joy now traveling.

So would the said “Briton” also agree to making it easier for Spaniards and other EU citizens to travel to the UK or is this just a one-way idea?

Would this mean the 90 day ruling would be scrapped ?. As requested by the Baleares and Canary Governments.?
