"Mr M. Thought I would leave the survey for a few days. Looks like your red seems to be the only one. I shall wait and see what the true situation was with regard to this terrible RTI. As to car drivers being selfish louts I have yet to see a gaggle of ten or more cars all together, hogging the road, driving on the walkway, going the wrong way down one way streets, stopping enmass to urinate and deficate in public etc. You need to read the comments made below and elsewhere to realise how people feel about cyclist on Mallorca, especially large groups." . . Drivers just get in their cars after a few drinks, a quick line or two, take a couple of selfies then kill other human beings. What you have written doesn't warrant time being wasted in responding as all points, quite frankly, are a little silly. As a reference, I'm more than happy that the selfish, the ignorant and the hard of thinking are giving me negative scores,

PalmaDave, I tend to think arguments should stand on their own merits rather than the approval gained from others. The rest of your reply illustrates that you either chose to ignore the point I was making or it went straight over your head. Maybe read it again more slowly and get back to me.

"Don, so what you are saying is that if a cyclist pulls out in front of a car then the driver is to blame? If a cyclist jumps a red light and is hit by a car the driver is to blame? If a cyclist is riding along a footpath and shoots across a vebra crossing unexpected the diver is to blame? If a cyclist vías out into the road while a car is overtaking properly the driver is to blame? (Cyclist deliberately pulling out while overtaking has happened to me) I think you might have a bit of a chip on your shoulder as you don’t seem to read anything anyone else writes in the comments. " The answer to all of those is a resounding yes! If you are driving at a speed that you cannot avoid an accident in any of those cases, you are driving too fast and out of control or are not paying sufficient attention. I have never experienced any of those situations in my many driving years, possibly because rather than having a chip, i have experience of being on both sides. If you see a cyclists, do you not prepare yourself? If there is a cyclist near a zebra crossing, do you not think that there's a possibility that they might cross, and.... wait for it.... prepare yourself? Cyclists are unlikely to run red lights when traffic is coming as it's dangerous, but I have no doubt that you have experience of this. If a cyclist vias (sic) into the road and causes you a problem, you are probably not giving them sufficient space in the first place, it's a minimum of 1.5m for reference, and I'd fully cross the white line just to be sure (even if it irritates following drivers. I'll repeat that I don't have a chip, nor have I cherry picked just to clarify the things that you think are there (but aren't really). I was nearly taken out by a guy in a LandRover who stopped further up the road for a confrontation because of a gesture I made. His excuse was that he "had to overtake me", we had a very cicvil chat around the fact that there was very little in this world was so important that "he had to overtake me", he was just unhappy about the number of cyclists and wanted to vent his anger on this cyclist. Cyclists are just human beings on bikes, some make mistakes, some ride with care, some are too young to know better, but you want to blame them and use them as an excuse for bad driving. In all your points, I would cite bad driving. When you put this attitude alongside drink and drugs, the reults are not just indefensible, they are horrific, as you have pointed out, cars are heavy, metal objects. Cyclists are sof and squishy and will always lose the physical battle with cars. So please drive with a bit more consideration for me. Blood is also a nightmare to get out of paintwork.
