Girona 1 - Real Mallorca 0

Mallorca, three points off the relegation zone away at Girona, hunting for a play-off spot. Every game seems to have been crucial almost all season for Mallorca, as they have been constantly staring over their shoulders at relegation. Three points here would do very nicely thank you.

Ortuño, stirred into life that had been absent for several weeks by his goal against Tenerife last time out, gave Becerra a bit of work to do after just three minutes. The rest of the half was bereft of scoring chances, Girona struck the woodwork from a corner, Becerra dealt easily with an Oriol free kick, and that was pretty much that.

Second half, right from the kick-off, Yuste was adjudged to have tripped Borja in the area. Herrera put the penalty away. The decision to award the penalty looked questionable. Sabater responded with a free kick that went close, and Alcaraz was likewise near from a Girona corner. Mallorca desperately looked for an equaliser in the final ten minutes, but it wasn't to be.
