Barceló said that the redundancy procedure for employees has yet to be started. The Balearic government is insisting that it is commenced in order that employees can receive what is owed to them.
All parties have supported the PP call, with Alvaró Gijón stressing the need for explanations and "solutions to minimise the effects of the bankruptcy".
The consumer affairs director-general says that hotels cannot charge tourists a second time and that they (the hotels) have to pursue claims against the collapsed company.
Some 20,000 British tourists have been left with trying to solve how payments are to be made to hotels and with filing claims with the Balearic government.
