A day like Tuesday - possibility of showers, occasionally heavy. Weather stations suggesting that northern areas will have the most overcast conditions.

There was a yellow alert for rain on Tuesday - the south and the interior from 2pm to 7pm - but there was also some heavy rain in the north. It's possible that a yellow alert will be issued at some point for Wednesday.

At present, Thursday looks as if it will be a generally better day, but from late on Friday and over the weekend rain is forecast to be highly probable. The first genuinely autumnal spell, as temperatures are due to fall; between 17 and 19C on Sunday. A strong northerly wind is still forecast to blow on Saturday.
