LAST Friday we took part at the evening tour in Palma. As we understood it would have to do with stories, myths and legends.

We have done several tours like patio tour, Jewish quarter tour, which was guided by the same guide, and we thought well we hoped her English would improve, but this tour was quite a deception, all the guide could do was tell stories about houses and that in the worst English I have heard in a long time. How nice that guide was, a refreshing course in English would not do any harm.

We stepped out of the tour after 1 hour and 15 minutes, which we have never done before, because we have had it, maybe the myths come after that, but certainly not in the first 75 minutes.

Kind regards

Dear Sir,
I am so pleased that Calvia is to be the location for the- Gloria Estefan concert- it´s good publicity for the island and its tourism to be seen to offer these star studded events.

I rushed out to El Corte Inglés to purchase tickets on the first day that the concert was announced in the press. There in I made a mistake!! Two days later Calvia announced in (only) the Spanish language papers that residents would be able to enjoy a 10 Euro discount, I rang the town hall at Calvia only to discover that those who had to date purchased the tickets in agencies, could not decoup that sum, and that neither do agencies (such as Corte Inglés) refund tickets. I do feel very non plussed, as a long term resident, could not the council and the promoters have decided on the day of the first concert advertisement, to mention this pleasant offer? Or is this a case of the left hand does not know what the right hand is doing? Thank goodness I was not buying a quantity of tickets, as the price difference would have been considerable. May I suggest that in future, the Calvia council get their act together please.

Yours sincerely
