By Humphrey Carter AFRICAN Player of the Year, Samuel Eto'o scored twice for Mallorca on Sunday to give the home side victory over Malaga and secure their top flight future.

Eto'o has flown back and forth to Cameroon on a privet jet chartered by the club to collect his African Player of the Year award the day before the game, but showed no signs of jet lag as he set about showing exactly why he is the best African footballer in the world right now.

To the delight of the fans and the club, Real Mallorca can stop worrying about their future in the first division and concentrate on making Real Madrid's season a misery this Saturday.

Coach Luis Aragones has a few injury problems to solve over the next few days.
He is hopeful about being able to take Guillermo Pereyra and Fernando Correa to Madrid.
Correa missed the Malaga game and both players were due to undergo medicals yesterday.
Olaizola, Ligüera and Fernández are also nursing injuries.
But, compared to Real Madrid's problems, Mallorca's are minor.
Madrid lost to Deportivo on Saturday night and defeat to Mallorca will cost Beckham and co. the league and condemn them to a silverware-free season.
Amidst talk of a move back to England, David Beckham was out promoting his new boots with a group of children yesterday.
Having spent the weekend in England, he flew back to present his new “Adidas Predator Pulse Beckham” at the Spanish Football Federation headquarters.
But with Valencia now four points clear at the top of the league and Barcelona just a point behind, Madrid can not afford any more slip ups.
