Calvia.—The long weekend of 26 to 28 May 2012 is only five weeks away, and is now a firm date to put in your diary if you enjoy water sports.
Whether you're into sailing, motor cruising, chartering, or maybe exploring what might appeal to you as a hobby or a relaxing family pursuit, then you will find something of interest in Puerto Portals this May! Apart from the large number of yachts available for public viewing on the floating quays, there will be a shore based exhibition in the chic well known Puerto Portals boulevard area.

This is bordered on both sides by boutique shops, restaurants and bars, only a few metres from the waters edge.
Where else will you find such an agreeable setting for a thoroughly enjoyable Nautical Weekend?
This will be a real ‘boat fair' embodied within all the facilities of a vibrant full service marina in its lively summer season mode! The port itself celebrated 25 years in existence as a luxury marina in 2011, and is universally regarded in the nautical leisure world as a top class sailor's destination.   If you take the excellent ambience of the port, with it's extensive retail shopping outlets, plus restaurants and bars to suit every taste and pocket, and combine it with a display of boats (both new and pre-owned) from Europe's best known names in yacht building and brokerage... then that describes perfectly what you will see and experience at the Portals Nautical Weekend.

Add to that, a host of other exhibitors from Majorca's long established and high quality marine services sector, and any nautically inclined family or yachting professional is bound to find this an attractive event to visit.

Some of the other attractions to complement the comprehensive range of yachts in the water (from 8m to >30m, power and sail), will be the all important chandlers and yachting accessory  exhibits, with special prices on some items exclusively for the show.

Organising team
The organising team for the event have just announced some of the headline exhibitors that have already signed up to be in Puerto Portals for this special weekend. These include leading yacht brands from; Fairline, Oyster, Azimut, Beneteau, Bavaria, Riva, Princess, San Lorenzo, Sunseeker etc.

There will also be a good selection of pre owned motor and sail boats from top local and international brokers such as Sunbird, Baxter Marine, Marivent Yachts, Drettmann and Yacht Moments.

On the shoreside exhibition Yacht Center Palma (Marine Superstore) and Nauti Parts will have the whole range of chandlery, accessories, RIBS, tenders, jet-skis, kayaks and Xtreme Toys on show.

Or if you prefer to charter a yacht for an idyllic holiday in the Balearics, or to take an instructional course towards gaining a recognised yachting qualification, then there will be specialist companies like Palma Sea School and Mallorca Charterpoint on hand to help you with arranging this to suit your requirements.

To add to the all round entertainment value the Mallorca Driving Club will be there with a fleet of great classic cars, and Harley Davidson will have a few of the world's most famous two wheeled machines on show.

Also planned is a boat parade, music, entertainment and some competitions to keep the atmosphere lively and constantly interesting. It is expected that all the restaurants, bars and boutique shops around the marina will join in the spirit of the event by offering specialities, promotional prices and customer focused hospitality.

Big events
This is a marina that is used to hosting big events such as the Audi MedCup regatta, and its famous annual Christmas Fair, so winding up for a busy nautical weekend as the summer season really kicks in… will be an occasion they are sure to rise to!
