PALMA
PALMA City Council launched their new anti-street party campaign on Friday night but, being a rather damp, chilly and dark Autumn night, the young revelers were obviously not out in the numbers they usually are during the summer.

However, the “botellon” street party awareness team hit the Paseo Maritimo in Palma to launch the campaign which will continue for the next seven weeks.

Armed with leaflets about the risks of abusing alcohol and drugs and mini breath tests for the revelers to try, the awareness team is also charged with explaining to the young drinkers that their behavior is considered antisocial by the council and residents living along the sea front and is also harmful to the city's tourism image.
