This evening a National Police exhibition which is touringSpain, will be on show in Palma.
The exhibition is called “The victory of freedom” and has been designed to increase the general public’s awareness to how the National Police combat domestic and international terrorism and the exhibition features a host of items which have been seized from terrorists over the years.
One of the most interesting is going to be the rifle ETA terrorists intended to use to assassinate the former king of Spain, Juan Carlos in Palma 20 years ago.
The three-strong ETA unit was  held up in an apartment block over looking the Porto Pi naval base and it was from there they were going to take the shot.
However, they were rumbled just at the last minute and arrested.
