The EMT municipal bus company announced yesterday that the number 1 service which connects the port with Palma airport is going to be operating 24/7 from 1 July and will continue operating round the clock until at least the end of August. EMT sources said yesterday that should the service prove successful, then it will be extended.
Councillor for Transport, Joan Ferrer, explained that the move is not only aimed at catering for passengers but to also help staff get back and forth to the airport over night. The airport employs more people than any other entity on the island, he stressed.
