During June, Llucmajor town hall opened 176 proceedings for violations of regulations regarding coexistence. These proceedings (fines) were mainly all to do with incidents in Arenal and they coincided with end-of-course student (Spanish) holidays. The heaviest fine is 3,000 euros.

Many of the sanctions raised by the environment department and local police were for the consumption and sale of alcohol. But the main ones related to transgressions of coexistence bylaws. As well as the sale of alcohol to minors and out of hours, there were sanctions for illegal selling, activities that caused a nuisance to residents and a failure by hotels to supervise the behaviour of guests.

Mayor Gori Estarellas says that this summer's campaign against anti-social behaviour and public order breaches has been going well. He suggests that the level of nuisance has been "minimised" thanks to the efforts of the local police. The campaign is ongoing, as with controls of establishments' business activity licences.
