Dear Sir,

At this time of year I realize that the amount of cyclists that come to the island from all over the world are very good for the islands economy but I wish they would have more regard for other road users and pedestrians.

On Tuesday I went with friends to visit Santuari de Sant Salvador at Felanitx anyone that has been will know it is a long winding steep climb on the way up the many cyclists were very considerate and waved us past when they could see the way was clear but on the way down it was very different we had a German cyclist right behind us and he was shouting and cursing which was very annoying as he had a much clearer view beyond the bends in the road.

I live in Porto Cristo and we get our fair share of cyclists they come at top speed down the hill and straight onto the promenade with no regard for the pedestrians which makes me really annoyed.

This is very dangerous I had an Aunt in England that was walking along the pavement when a cyclist ran into her she had to be hospitalized and never fully recovered. Cyclists I beg of you to think of others please.

David Earnshaw.

Porto Cristo.
