Dear Sir,
I write in response to the recent allegations on behalf of the PSOE oppostion party with regard to Calvia International department.
From 8am until 3pm on weekdays the department offers a first class information and assistance service to the International community of Calvia.
As from 3pm weekdays, and all weekend, my two team members Sally and Marta are free to pursue whichever leisure activity, sports activity or hobby that they choose, that is their democratic right.
If it so happens that they have decided to be active in politics in their free time, and that they support the Governing Partido Popular, indeed that is their prerogative.
Maybe there is just a lack of understanding of the function of the department by the Socialist party, as to date they have not operated such a department.
In fact in 2007 when I worked with Kate Mentink in the International department in Palma, the Socialist government closed it down 1 week after elections.
Either way the Calvia International department is a lifeline for many, and Marta and Sally do a sterling job.

Best wishes
Councillor Angie Guerrero

Dear Sir,
The pre-election polls were correct at the time but they affected the vote. Many voters took fright at the possibility of an ineffectual government, changed their intentions and voted for the devil they knew.
Next time there may be a repetition of the Blair landslides. Who can tell!

Yours sincerely,
Betty Davies
