In response to "Tourist tax approved and will be charged from 1 July"

Dear Sir,

As this is now a certainty, why doesn’t the DB hold a ballot as to how this money should be spent?

Example:

1. Extra security

2. Extra health service costs, generated by the tourists

3. Improving the environment.

4. Any other worthwhile suggestions ?

Also, do the islands' residents realise that they will be charged this tourist tax when they stay in a local hotel? (If they are not liable for the tax, it could be described as discriminatory.)
