The Blog: Changing the model, but how many tourists are enough?
Post-Covid tourism won’t be the same and nor should it be the same
Right at the moment it can seem ridiculous to be even contemplating a situation in which there might be an optimum or maximum number of tourists in Mallorca. It is precisely because we are at this moment, however, that the debate is being renewed and may actually have some chance of producing an outcome.

6 million a year is sustainable as a maximum. The problem is airlines dont care and simply dump as many tourists on the islands as possible for greed profit reasons only . Hotels similar pre covid times only interested in more more more instead of less and more quality . Cruise ship industry the same more ships and the bigger the better etc etc . A society that only wants more and demands this and demands that is doing a great job of destroying the ecological balance of nature over the last decades especially. No wonder nature is fighting back with virus after virus to try to rid the world of too many people and to wake everyone up to rethink their behaviour ! That is fast destroying a lot of this planet . Mallorca is no exception to this global development .
You failed to mention stupidity and greed, both of which are systemic.
