A 22-year-old Polish woman took her own life on Saturday afternoon when she slashed her throat with a kitchen knife at the Müller store on the Plaça Espanya in Palma.

The incident occurred around 4.30. She went to the kitchen department and took a knife. Emergency services raced to the scene, but she was already dead.

Police cordoned off the area. An investigation has been opened into the circumstances.
