Barcelona were the better team in both legs of their Champions League clash with Chelsea but this shouldn´t diminish the Premier League club´s achievement; they won fair and square. Chelsea have been accused by large sections of the Spanish media for being too defensive; if you are going to play the best attacking team in the world, what must do you do? If Chelsea had come out attacking from the start they would have been slaughtered by Barcelona, so Chelsea played their own game, and parked the bus infront of goal. But the real achievement was the fact that the majority of teams playing with ten men at the Nou Camp and 2-0 down would have thrown in the towel. The fact that Chelsea didn´t showed real strength of character by all. Barcelona were obviously rocked by their defeat by Real Madrid on Saturday and also their loss in the first leg but they are still a formidable team who expected to be victorious. Even the Spanish TV commentator said they would give their man of the match award to the player who scored Barcelona´s winner. It never came and full marks to Spanish TV and their audience, the man of the match award finally went to Didier Drogba. Barcelona have been brought down to size by the defeat but they have a great team which can bounce back. As for Chelsea well I think Roberto Di Matteo has done enough to become the permanent first team coach. It was certainly a great night for him.
