The 99% of the race runs inside the Finca Pública Galatzó part of the Serra de Tramuntana (UNESCO World Heritage).
There is the Galatzó Legend which starts at 8.30am from the Plaça de Sa Vinya in Es Capdella. The GALATZÓ LEGEND is a mountain marathon race (43 km or 26,7 miles) that starts at Sa Vinya square (Es Capdellà), runs through the country estate of Galatzó and finishes at the same place. During the race the participants will ascend two of the most important peaks of the Serra de Tramuntana, Esclop (927m) and Galatzó (1027m).
The other race is the Galatzó Half starting at 10am from the Plaça de Sa Vinya in Es Capdella. The distance is 23km (14,3 miles). The direction of the route has been reversed in comparison to previous editions (before 2022) and improvements have been made to the itinerary. Participants will walk the ancestral path of “Pas des Cosi” uphill, whereas previously they did it downhill. This change will also help to reduce erosion in the area.
