Following a faltering start to the season, with a number of new players still bedding in, and the loss of centre-back Antonio Raíllo through injury, the seventh match of this LaLiga EA Sports season will represent a big test for Real Mallorca - the biggest test so far.
Barcelona are the visitors to the Son Moix. They will naturally be challenging for the 2023-24 title and will be able to call on stars such as Robert Lewandowski, Gavi, Pedri and Ilkay Gündogan, who has moved to Barça from Manchester City. Once all the frenetic transfer window activity finished a few weeks ago, Barça had acquired Joao Cancelo on loan from City and Joao Felix on loan from Atlético Madrid (he had an unsuccessful six-month spell with Chelsea last season).
This is one of the most anticipated matches of the season, not simply because it is Barça. There’s also the not inconsiderable matter of all the supporters that Barcelona have in Mallorca.
