I was rather shocked to read in Wednesday´s Bulletin about the woman who was robbed on Santa Ponsa beach. Not a good image for Calvia or Majorca. Why was not the woman informed about the need for an interpreter with her when she attended the Police Station! The point is my wife and I were holidaying in Lisbon last year, and I was the victim of a pickpocket. I arrived back at my hotel and told the receptionist what had happened. He then told us to go to the Tourism Police Station which deal solely with foreigners. God knows how many European languages they spoke. We were dealt with in our own language in a pleasant and very efficient way. Then we were given a full report for insurance purposes. There was no CHARGE for this. Things have to change there should be a service like that here for tourists. Which would be a good image for the Balearics. After all Santa Ponsa now is a premier resort.
