...for John Galliano the British head designer for the prestigious Christian Dior fashion house who was dismissed last week for insulting behaviour in Paris. Galliano was a surprise choice by Dior in the early 1990s but with considerable flair and provocative presentations he kept his place until a recent abusive conversation with Jewish guests in a bar was exacerbated by a video in which he sang I love Hitler. Alcohol doubtless fuelled these outbursts but they were totally unacceptable and Dior's decision to fire him was inevitable.
