WELCOME TO MAJORCA

I HAVE to laugh when I read all that is being done to promote tourism and visitors to the Island. Are they telling the true story - down town Palma - our lovely city that used to have a vibrant atmosphere, people enjoying the street cafe's, bars and restaurants - now no longer. Calvia - regulations to stop outside dining after 11.00pm, (so you best eat early and then vacate your chair!) Shopping - you can shop late on a Thursday night, but not on a Saturday afternoon, (I wonder if the Cruise Ships tell their customers) Self-catering apartments, not encouraged - although perhaps the local bars, restaurants and shops may have benefitted from the income. I listen to the locals and tourists and all I can hear them say is how expensive it is and how the place has changed. I wonder how many of them will come back. Come on Majorca, wake up before it's too late. L New
