F OR David Walliams, the comedian who swam from the source of the Thames at Lechdale in Gloucestershire to the House of Commons at Westminster in eight days and raised more than one million pounds for Comic Relief in doing so. Walliams, a cross channel swimmer, had to cope with swans, water rats, raw sewage, boats of all kinds and the Thames' notorious currents and undertows during his 140-mile swim -- and also found time to rescue a Labrador which had fallen in the river at Cookham Lock. Well swum, Sir!
