Moore and “Winds of Change”

I agree with Jason Moore´s “Winds of Change” in Sóller, except it does not go far enough. Port de Sóller is a great location, one which I visit often as itself, an escape from Sóller, and as access to the ferry to Sa Calobra.

The problem is that besides beach and bars, there is not much for hotel guests or day trippers to do there. The area Mr Moore is referring to is basicly the peninsula extending into the right side of the harbor. Currently there is a nice museum and function room in a former convent over looking the sea outside, and the rest serves no useful purpose.

Mr Moore´s suggestion involves only the interior litoral of this peninsula. The rest of the area between convent and lighthouse would make a great park, picknick area, promenade, more interesting if other aspects of its military history were incorporated making the entire an historical park.
