By Jason Moore THE other-day I was interviewed by REM FM, the biggest English language radio station on the mainland, at the beautiful Hotel Bon Sol in Illetas. The radio station was broadcasting live from Majorca and guests included charity fundraiser, Robert Winsor, company director and Bulletin columnist Anna Nicholas, Calvia councillor, Kate Mentink, Olga Bestard, and Majorcan Tourist Board President Alvaro Middlemann. After interviewing the whole Majorca panel presenter Mike Souter remarked that the underlining trend was how proud everyone was of Majorca and all that it has to offer. I suppose the underlining trend is that we all love Majorca and we quite rightly believe that it is the best place to live in Spain. Is Majorca very much different to the mainland. Well ofcourse it is we have far more to offer! But what is quite amazing is that none of the guests on the radio programme had been born on the island. It is their adopted homeland. This pride is Majorca was very evident when the Bulletin gave away the Majorcan flag earlier this month; the newspaper on that day was a complete sell-out. Yes, we do love Majorca and the island should be very proud that its special status has rubbed off on all of us who call Majorca home eventhough we were born elsewher.
