Dear Sir,

I’m afraid that the letter published in the paper on Tuesday has sadly missed the point entirely about our orchestra.

The Balearic Islands need a fully functioning Symphony Orchestra and we have a brilliant one. You cannot compare it with a chamber orchestra in London where there are several other Symphony Orchestras and many free lance players available of a sufficiently high calibre to supplement a small core orchestra if required. As I have said before, and you have kindly published in your paper, most of the problems stem from mistakes by the politicians and their selected administrators. How can someone continue in their position when they have received a 85% no confidence vote from the people they are supposed to be representing and working on behalf of?

Please let us all get solidly behind the truly magnificent and dedicated players that we have in the orchestra and all go forward to celebrating this part of culture that does and could bring so much pleasure and education to our group of Islands.
