Make sure your passports are in order. | Majorca Daily Bulletin reporter
British tourists are continuing to pay the price for Brexit and with millions heading overseas on holiday this year, many to the Balearics in particular Mallorca, warnings have been issued so that travellers don’t get caught by the Schengen passport trap.

Ulla Jackson'Regarding your comment - the very often is that it only "us" and Germany make net contributions.' Spain is also a net contributor to the EU. But people who read right wing anti EU propaganda like the Mail and Express wouldn't know that.
Stephen Perriman"As Majorcan property owner". Why do you have a property in Mallorca despite you destest all that EU countries stands for and on top if Mallorca is a "corrupt and crime ridden island". I call that hypocrisy, or could it be you want an escape - just in case? Maybe you can enlighten us why you would have a property here at all. Regarding your comment - the very often is that it only "us" and Germany make net contributions. There are others who make net contributions, but I guess in your world there are only two countries that counts (really only one the UK, I'm sure in your view but generously you added Germany) I think you are a bit home blind as both corruption and crime - including money laundering happens on an island called Britain.
Stephen PerrimanHilarious comment! If you're talking about corruption you might want to look closer to home seeing as London is the money laundering capital of the world! Take a stroll around any Spanish city and compare it to the UK's cities - then tell me which appears to be third world!
Stephen PerrimanNo worries, it's all going to collapse any day now. Surely you're aspiring to get out while you still can. We wish you every success in your timely departure from this godforsaken hellhole.
As a Majorca property owner but resident in the UK, I like the majority am very glad that the UK got out of the corrupt EU, which has been a drain on our country’s finances from day one as only the UK and Germany made huge net contributions. So if the EU wants to make stupid rules for first world countries they can shove their bankrupt and crime ridden island.
Brett DennisAs far as I know the UK is not a 3rd world country! Not yet anyway! It is a third country. Citizens of third countries will be required to apply for an ETIAS visa from November 2023 I understand. This is not to be confused with the Schengen visa.
Brett DennisThe issue seems to be more basic than that. Being subjected to passport controls at all is apparently another unsavoury Brexit punishment ...although Brits had to endure it long before Brexit too, along with over 170 other nationalities - But that's beside the point. While it's perfectly reasonable to impose passport controls when entering the UK, it's completely unfair that Brits should be subjected to such inconveniences when travelling abroad. After all, Britain apparently accounts for the single most important tourism nationality, and they'll quit travelling to places where they're inconvenienced, and those places would all go flat broke without that influx of the world's most important currency. But now, in another desperate Brexit punishment attempt, Europeans have apparently set a "trap" for Brits. Yet out of all of the nationalities it also applies to, Brits are the only nationality that has the guts to object and make threats, which perilously keep being ignored, every year, year after year, since decades. You'd think they'd learn by now, but you know how they are over there. See you soon 🙋♂️
It seems UK passports do not need a Schengen visa as other 3rd world countries do?
