Dear Sir, MY wife and I have been coming to Majorca for over 20 years; we love the place and think it's a beautiful island. Whilst we are here, we take a walk every day in Palma Nova from the Son Mattius beach and round to the far beach at Palma Nova's small boat harbour. This year, while here both in April/May, and again in October/November, we found so many people walking their dogs and allowing them to foul the promenade. Not only is it spoiling the area, but it is a danger to children. It is so sad that people will not clear up after their animals. In the U.K., there is a bye-law which would penalise the owner with a fine of one hundred Pounds, which is a deterrent to neglegent dog walkers. I do hope that by writing to you, it could be brought to the attention of the local Council and that something can be done to stop this happening.
