Majorca's carnival weekend got underway yesterday with the traditional parade along the Playa de Palma. It was watched by hundreds of people. There are more parades in Palma today (Sunday) with the Sa Rueta parade for children and then later Sa Rua for adults. Many of the costumes are expected to have a general election feeling with many people dressing-up as one of the candidates. Some roads in Palma will be closed to traffic.
