The Council of Minorca's heritage department has classified the Cathedral in Ciutadella as a building of cultural interest (BIC), classifying it as a monument. The Cathedral is in Catalan Gothic style and has a single aisle with side chapels and an heptagonal apse. It originally had three Gothic style portals, but only one has been preserved. The new classification affects the entire building, which is in a good state of repair, although parts of it are being restored and consolidated.
