Staff reporter IBIZAN businessman Manel Vila is still missing in Thailand. Vila was on holiday with his daughter in the area when the tsunami struck on Boxing Day. His daughter was found alive within 48 hours of the giant seaquake, but the Ibizan yacht chandler is still missing. He and another Spaniard whose identity has not been made public are the only two Spaniards still missing. Manel Vila was last seen on the beach in Khao Lak, the area of Thailand worst hit by the killer waves.

Money is continuing to pour in to local charities and the Son Antem Golf Club announced yesterday that it will be holding a fund-raising tournament on January 30.

The fee is 80 euros and all proceeds will be donated to Doctors Without Frontiers “to help in every way possible.” The tournament begins at 10am with a Shotgun start on Son Antem West.

A charity raffle will also be held and The Marriott Hotel will be sponsoring the prize giving reception and cocktail after the tournament.
This Sunday in Ibiza, a Solidarity Rock Festival is being held to also raise funds. The event is being organised in Sant Josep by Ibiza residents Antoni Tur and Carolina Tur who survived the catastrophe and will feature a host of local musicians and artists.
