Newsdesk BALEARIC health minister Vicens Thomas said that his department hoped to extend physiotherapy services to health centres throughout the Balearics. He added that eventually, the physiotherapists may be able to make home visits. He was speaking at the opening of a congress on physiotherapy. The minister called on physiotherapists to carry out more research and explain the efficiency of their methods. He went on to say that physiotherapists had “a very important role to play” in many neurological, respiratory, cardiology and rheumatology problems.

At the moment, patients have to be referred to a physiotherapist, but Thomas said that this would soon change, as their work became better known.
