PALMA
POLICE have significantly stepped up the search for 78-year-old British tourist Iris Perkins who went missing last Saturday afternoon in Santa Ponsa.
Iris and her husband Leonard, who have been holidaying in Santa Ponsa for the past 15 years and Majorca for at least 30, according to son David who also added yesterday that she had even lived in Cala Millor for a few years, only arrived on the island on Saturday and had popped out to stock up on some supplies for their apartment in the Xaloc IV block in calle Ramon de Moncades, and look for somewhere to have dinner.

It was on the way back to their apartment that Iris went missing.
David, who flew out on Tuesday, said yesterday that Leonard and Iris were carrying their shopping back to the flat. “Dad was in front and presumed that mum was following. She was carrying two shopping bags, no hand bag, so she was carrying neither money nor identification. “This is most strange. She's never done anything like this before” he proclaimed.
It appears that Iris may have forgotten an item and returned to the shop.
