Soller.The Guardia Civil said yesterday that they have stepped up their investigation into the torching of the local Mayor's BMW in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
As the Bulletin reported yesterday, they have CCTV footage of two hoodies setting fire to the vehicle which was parked right outside the house of the Mayor, Carlos Simarro, but can not get a clear identification of either of the men from the footage.
So, the Guardia Civil and the Local Police have stepped up their efforts to track the culprits down.
The Mayor has already asked for extra police protection for himself, his family and key members of the local council for the duration of the investigation and until the two arsonists are arrested.
In the meantime, the police have repeated that there is no need for any social alarm, and they have the situation under control as their inquiries advance.
