PALMA
FESTIVITIES to mark Sant Sebastian, the patron saint of Palma, are allegedly going to be the most spectacular ever, according to Mayor Aina Calvo and the Councillor for Social Welfare, Eberhard Grosske, who unveiled the 10-day programme of events yesterday.

This year, for the first time ever, the council has agreed to a have a “guest country” in the form of Bolivia and Calvo hopes that this will help integrate the island's Bolivian residents in Majorca's culture and community. “Palma and this fiesta in particular is open to people from all walks of life and we hope to have drawn up a programme of events which will cater for all tastes,” Calvo said yesterday.
